I've been hard at work compiling things for my etsy shop...I know I know! There still isn't anything listed on there. Give me a couple more weeks please:-). I've been trying very hard to get caught up. My computer has some sort of virus that won't allow me to remove pics from my camera. I have to make Chris download all the pics and then send them to me. Needless to say its cramping my style. Time to move my work onto a Mac...but in the meantime I'm making lots of cute little flowers with handmade peonies in the works! I will post some pics soon, I just got the perfect fabric for them:-).

My brother and sister-in-law are the amazing photographers behind Jodi Miller Photography, I'm proud to say. Recently they did some major rebranding to give their packaging, as well as their website, a more hand drawn, handmade kind of feel. They love working with clients who express themselves this way. And! They asked me to create some custome handmade lace flowers to coordinate with the awesome folios my brother created. So here are my humble flowers above with their newly designed packaging! Oh, and the sweet logo and drawings were done by the talented Bill Main!

black and pink

This picture came from Martha Stewart...I've been working on my little projects for etsy and I seem to be making a lot that is black and pink. I love the contrast of a color that can be sort of harsh with a color that is perceived as sweet and precious. Its a stunning combination and I don't think it gets old. I will list some things on etsy very very soon! I've been sort of dealing with a bunch of crazy things at once.

photoshoot

So here is a little teaser from the photo shoot I helped with last Friday. I was going to post my own photos of my inspiration but Jodi's photos are just so much more appealing. They are definitely worth the wait.

Jodi (from Jodi Miller Photography) asked me to help style some shoots and this is sort of the inspiration for the whole theme. Bride Heather totally cooperated with us coming up with an idea and seeing it to completion. We had no idea what style she was going for or what kind of dress she had. It was just a lot of flexibility on her part and a whole lot of nervous excitement on our part. All in all it turned out better than I even thought. However, Jodi and Kurt have just the right touch and a great eye, and all their photos turn out magical! Enjoy for now. I'll post more when Jodi does! i love it

Forsythia in my yard...I love how vibrant the yellow is, I wish I had a shirt that color. Friday we'll go out and work on the garden, I can't wait!

my plants

Here is a pile of seeds I planted yesterday. That's right some of those were 20 cents a packet!

I used indoor planting trays with clear lids on them this time around. I have 144 little pods planted. I am hoping they will all take, some of them have several seeds in each and they are now sitting in the window.

I planted tomatoes, squash, peppers, cucumbers, basil, green beans, dill, parsley, marigolds, oriental poppies, bachelor buttons, sunflowers varieties, and some zinnias. I have more flowers to plant including bulbs, I have a giant elephant ear in a pot in the sunshine too. I want to be ahead of things when its warm enough to plant. Last year I was pregnant at this time and then had Keira in April and the garden never happened. I won't let that happen this year!

I had some recent inspiration to work on my bedroom. Last fall we bought a new-to-us dresser from an antique store nearby, I doubt we even spent 50 dollars on it. Since I was thrifty in my purchase I wonder if it would be ok to indulge a little in fixing it up. I am thinking a crisp wintery white, high gloss paint and one of these beautiful knob selections from Anthropologie. At 6-8 dollars a piece and 16 knobs I think I may have to resort to Home Depot.
